Mattia Storti got a Master in Industrial biotechnology at the University of Padova (Italy), where he also got a PhD in “biochemistry and biophysics” under the supervision of Pr. Tomas Morosinotto. During this period, Mattia studied the accessories mechanisms involved in photosynthetic regulation in the moss Physcomitrium patens. He specialized in spectroscopic and biochemical techniques aimed to analyze the photosynthetic apparatus of this organism.
Mattia joins our team for a Postdoc under the leadership of Dr. Giovanni Finazzi. There he will work on an ERC founded project for the study of chloroplast-mitochondria interactions in microalgae. He will focus on the identification of the actors that allow energetic exchange between the two organelles and the environmental conditions triggering/stimulating this interaction.
