New Member ! Jhoanell Angulo

Jhoanell is currently preparing the PLANTA international master’s diploma from the Université Grenoble Alpes (UGA) and the Università degli Studi di Milano (UNIMI). For her master thesis, she is working on the topic of UV-B photoprotection mechanisms in Chlamydomonas reinhardtii and Phaeodactylum tricornutum. To this aim, she is learning to perform chlorophyll fluorescence and spectroscopy measurements, confocal microscopy and biochemical analysis. She is also interested in working with electron microscopy techniques and 3D subcellular imaging studies. Her work will contribute to the elucidation of light acclimation mechanisms in our microalgae models through a biology structural approach.
